How can we help you?
Instant transfer
What is an instant transfer?
An instant transfer is a SEPA transfer in euros within the SEPA zone that is processed within seconds, 24/7 – including weekends and public holidays. The amount is immediately available in the beneficiary's account.
Can I receive instant transfers with Keytrade Bank?
Yes. Since 9 January 2025, all Keytrade Bank clients have been able to receive instant transfers free of charge, in line with the European regulation on instant payments. Of course, the sending bank must already support instant transfers. The European regulation will make it mandatory for banks to offer the sending of instant transfers as of 9 October 2025.
Can I make an instant transfer from my Keytrade Bank current account?
Unfortunately, not yet. The sending of instant transfers from a Keytrade Bank current account is being temporarily delayed due to the delay of a coinciding comprehensive ‘upgrading programme’ of Keytrade Bank’s core banking IT systems. The release date of this programme was originally planned at the very beginning of October 2025 and would have made instant payments possible before 9 October 2025. However, some stress tests with regard to operational and security risks have resulted in our bank’s decision to postpone the release of this programme. We will keep you posted and, in the meantime, we sincerely apologise for the delay.
Are there any fees for instant transfers?
This varies from bank to bank. As with standard SEPA transfers, there will be no fees for making an instant transfer with Keytrade Bank. Receiving instant transfers is always free of charge.
Are all transfers instant?
No. First, a transfer can only be instant if both the payer’s bank and the beneficiary’s bank support this type of transaction. Second, the payer will be able to choose between an instant transfer and a standard one.
Are instant transfers safe?
Yes. Instant transfers are just as secure as standard transfers.
