Keytrade Bank is looking to strengthen its Legal & Compliance department with the recruitment of a Legal Manager.
You will report directly to the Head of Legal & Compliance and combine both managerial responsibilities and legal expertise within the team.
Your responsibilities
Legal expertise
Provide high-quality legal support, including contract review, analysis, and advice to operational departments.
Monitor Belgian banking and financial regulations, as well as relevant provisions of the Economic Law Code (e.g. mortgage and consumer credits, commercial practices).
Offer pragmatic and solution-oriented interpretations.
Management and coordination
Lead and coach a team of 4 Legal Advisors specialized in payments, taxation, GDPR, civil law, and related areas.
Organize case allocation and ensure the quality and consistency of deliverables.
Support the professional development and career growth of team members.
Coordinate the implementation of regulatory changes in collaboration with the Head of Legal & Compliance.
Cross-functional contribution
Work closely with the Head of Legal & Compliance.
Contribute to transversal projects within the bank to ensure compliance.
Act as a liaison between the legal team and other departments, bringing a constructive and pragmatic perspective.
Your profile
Master’s degree in law, ideally with a specialization or experience in banking law, economic law, or credit law.
5 to 7 years of relevant professional experience, including proven team management.
Solid knowledge of the Belgian banking sector and financial regulation.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain legal concepts to non-lawyers.
Critical thinker, detail-oriented, solution-driven, and comfortable in a fast-changing environment.
Bilingual FR/NL, with excellent command of English as a plus.
