How can we help you?

What you need to know about turbos

What is a Turbo?

A Turbo is a financial instrument that offers you the opportunity to benefit sooner than usual from any price increases or decreases through leverage.

Why invest in Turbos?

Some of the advantages are:

  • the possibility of benefiting sooner than usual from price increases or decreases
  • readily tradable on Euronext
  • transparent price-setting
  • extensive choice of underlying assets (indexes, equities, commodities, currency and bonds)
  • high profit potential due to leverage
  • built-in stop-loss limit
  • no fixed duration

What are the risks linked to investing in Turbos?

Because of the leverage, investing in Turbos is riskier than direct investment in the underlying asset. If the price of the underlying asset reaches or exceeds the stop-loss limit, the Turbo is automatically unwound and the residual value paid to the investor. In such cases, you may lose your entire investment. If you invest in a Turbo for which the underlying asset is listed in foreign currency, exchange-rate fluctuations may have a negative impact on the price of the Turbo.

What underlying assets can I invest in with a Turbo?

At present you can use Turbos to invest in indexes, equities, commodities, currency and bonds. For a complete summary of all Turbos available, go to www.abnamromarkets.be.

What is a Turbo Long?

A Turbo Long is the type of Turbo in which you invest if you believe that the price of the underlying asset is set to increase.

What is a Turbo Short?

A Turbo Short is the type of Turbo in which you invest if you believe that the price of the underlying asset is set to fall.
