Conditions for the “Refer a friend” promotion
08/2026
- Géneral provisions The terms and conditions of these rules apply to the “Refer a friend” promotion (hereinafter referred to as the “Rules”). This promotion is organised by Keytrade Bank, the Belgian branch of Arkéa Direct Bank S.A. (France), based at Boulevard du Souverain 100, 1170 Brussels, and registered under company number 0879.257.191 (hereinafter the «Bank»).
- Temporary promotion: Invite friends to become customers during the promotion period The promotion described below runs from the first day of the month in which the referring customer has their birthday up to and including the last day of the following month (hereinafter referred to as the “Promotion Period”), at the initiative of the Bank. For example, if the referring customer’s birthday is 13 June, the Promotion Period will run from 1 June to 31 July 2025. If the referring customer’s birthday is 1 August, the Promotion Period runs from 1 August to 30 September. Subject to the conditions specified in Article 4 and the limitations set out in Article 5 of the Rules, the promotion allows the Bank’s customers to refer one or more friends to become customers of the Bank during the Promotion Period. Provided that a bank account is effectively opened by the referred friend using the referring customer’s personal “promo code” during the Promotion, a bonus of €60 will be awarded to the referring customer. Provided that a bank account is effectively opened by the referred friend using the referring customer’s personal “promo code” during the Promotion Period and that a minimum deposit of €50 is paid into one of the referred friend’s accounts with the Bank, i.e. its current account, savings account(s) or securities account(s) (hereinafter referred to as one of the «Accounts»), within 2 months of opening the referred friend’s bank account, a bonus of €60 will be awarded to the new customer (referred friend). The referred friend’s application to open a bank account must be filled in correctly, indicating the personal “promo code” of the referring customer, and must be received by the Bank during the Promotion Period. Any bank account applications received by the Bank before the 1st day of the month in which the referring customer has their birthday and after the last day of the month following the referring customer’s birthday will not be considered. After the Bank has received the application to open a bank account, the referred friend has a maximum of 10 weeks to send the required or missing documents to the Bank. If it takes more than 10 weeks on the referred friend’s side, the promotional code will no longer be valid.
- Communication about the promotion The “Refer a friend” promotion is communicated to the Bank’s customers via an email unique to each referring customer sent at the start of the promotion, via a banner placed on the Bank’s transactional website and via any other channel that the Bank deems necessary. The Bank will not be liable for any communication about the promotion which it has not issued.
- Terms and conditions of the promotion and how it works 4.a For the referring customer When the promotion is launched, the customer receives a personal email inviting them to refer one or more friends to become a customer of the Bank. The email will include a link to a web page allowing them to send invitations by email with their personal “promo code” or to share their personal “promo code” via social media. The email will indicate the first name of the referring customer and a personalised message. The personal “promo code” of the referring customer must be used and mentioned by the referred friend on the bank application form. The “promo code” links the referring customer to the referred friend. By participating in the promotion, the referring customer agrees to mention their first name in the email sent to the referred friend(s). This €60 bonus will be multiplied by the number of friends who have become customers, with a maximum of 10 friends and therefore a maximum bonus of €600 (see Article 5 of the Rules below). In accordance with the Bank’s General Terms and Conditions and, in particular, its duty of professional discretion (Article 20), the Bank will not disclose to the referring customer the details of the referred friend having effectively opened a bank account using their “promo code”. Similarly, the Bank will not provide the referred friend with the details of their referring customer (except for the first name). 4.b For the referred friend By sending a personal invitation in the name of the referring customer (by email or via social media), the referred friend is invited to become a customer of the Bank and thus receive a bonus of €100 paid into their current account opened as part of this promotion with the Bank. To do this, the referred friend must submit an application to open an account with the Bank within the specified timeframe, via an invitation by the referring customer and using the personal “promo code” of their referring customer, and make a minimum deposit of 50 euros into the Account opened in their name. • If the bank account is opened via the link in the referring customer’s invitation, the personal “promo code” provided by the referring customer is automatically entered in the online application form. • If the bank account is opened using the online form on the keytradebank.be website, the referring customer’s personal “promo code” must be indicated on the first page of the online form. In addition, a required minimum deposit of €50 must be made into one of the referred friend’s Accounts with the Bank within two months of the referred friend’s bank account being opened. Otherwise, the €100 bonus will not be awarded. Any application to open a bank account is subject to acceptance by the Bank. See Article 5 of these Rules. 4.c Payment of the bonus Subject to the maximum amount defined in Article 5 of the Rules, the referring customer receives a bonus of €60. The referring customer’s €60 bonus will be paid the 2nd working day of the month following the Promotion Period provided that a bank account is effectively opened by the referred friend using the referring customer’s personal “promo code”. The €60 bonus will be paid into the referring customer’s current account with the Bank. The referred friend’s €100 bonus will be paid within the first two working days of the month, starting with the month following the Promotion Period. The month in which the bonus is paid depends on the date of the minimum deposit of €50 is made into one of the referred friend’s Accounts. Example: For Charlotte and Tom, the promotion runs from 1 July to 31 August 2025. Charlotte opens her account on 15 July. On 23 July, she pays €100 into her savings account. She will receive her €60 bonus on 2 September, i.e. on the 2nd working day after the Promotion Period. Tom opened his account on 2 August and paid €50 into his current account on 18 September. He had indeed 2 months to pay €50 into one of his Accounts from the moment his account is opened. Tom’s bonus will therefore be paid on 2 October. The referring customer and the referred friend both receive the bonus if and only if: - The Bank accepts the application to open the referred friend’s bank account; - If it has been activated via the referring customer’s personal “promo code” within the specified timeframe; - And if a minimum deposit of €50 has been made into one of the referred friend’s Accounts with the Bank within two months of the referred friend’s bank account being opened. The deadline for payment of the bonus is 8 months after the start of the Promotion Period. 4.d Validity of the link The promotion begins on the first day of the month in which the referring customer has their birthday and ends on the last day of the following month. Access to the website for the referring customer to send invitations with their personal “promo code” is valid from the date the initial email is sent by the Bank and for the entire duration of the promotion.
- Restrictions and limitations on the promotion The “Refer a friend” promotion is reserved exclusively for the Bank’s customers. The referring customer can share the personal promotional code in an unlimited way, but the Bank will pay a maximum of €600 in bonuses per referring customer. This means the referring customer will not receive any additional bonuses if more than 10 friends open a bank account using their invitation. Example: For one referred friend, the referring customer receives a €60 bonus. For two referred friends, a bonus of €120. For three referred friends, a bonus of €180. For five referred friends, a bonus of €300. For twenty referred friends, a bonus of €600 (given that this is the maximum amount). If a referring customer has several accounts1 with the Bank, they can choose which current account they wish to receive all the bonuses to be paid as part of the promotion. For example, customer X has 3 bank accounts: • A personal account; • A joint account with their spouse; • An account for which they are an authorised representative. If customer X introduces a new customer for the Bank via the “Refer a friend” promotion, they receive 1 x €60 per referred friend (and not 3 x €60 because they hold 3 bank accounts). As part of the promotion, customer X can choose, on the Bank’s transaction site, in which current account they want to receive the bonuses (they can opt to have the bonuses paid into their individual account or the joint account of which they are the joint holder). In the case where the referred friend opens a bank account with several account holders, or authorised representatives, a single bonus of €100 will be paid into the current account of the relevant bank account. In this case, the referring customer will only be paid the €60 bonus once. The referred friend must be considered a “new customer” to benefit from the bonus. A “new customer” is any person opening a bank account with the Bank for the first time. Anyone who has already opened or closed a bank account with the Bank in the previous four years, regardless of the type of bank account, may not take part in the promotion as a referred friend. A referred friend may not accumulate several bonuses for opening the same bank account. If a referred friend receives several personal “promo codes” from different referring customers, the personal «promo code» used when opening the bank account identifies the referring customer who will receive the €60 bonus. This promotional offer is not valid for companies, non-profit organisations, investment clubs and joint ownerships. This promotion may not be combined with other promotions related to opening a new bank account. In other words, the referring customer may only invite a friend through an individual or joint bank account. Similarly, the referred friend may only participate in this promotion by opening an individual or joint bank account. The Bank reserves the right to refuse an application to open a bank account under Article 4.2 of its General Terms and Conditions.
- Personal data Personal data will be processed by Keytrade Bank, the Belgian subsidiary of Arkéa Direct Bank SA (France), when processing your request and as part of the promotion, as well as for the purposes described in the Privacy Policy available at www.keytradebank.be. Please read this Policy for more detailed information about how your personal data are collected, saved and processed, as well as about your right of access, correction or objection.
- Complaints In accordance with Article 15 of the Bank’s General Terms and Conditions, the Customer must notify the Bank of any dispute or complaint regarding any fact listed in Article 15 in the context of this offer, on penalty of forfeiture of the Customer’s right to bring a complaint, by sending an email to qualitycare@keytradebank.com within five days of the date on which the Customer became aware of the fact or is presumed to have become aware of it, or within any other longer timeframe as authorised under the applicable rules. If a complaint is not dealt with to the Customer’s full satisfaction or they have not received a response within a reasonable timeframe (30 days), the Customer may send it to the Ombudsman for financial services: Ombudsfin Northgate II, le Roi Albert II, 8, boîte 2, 1000 Brussels Tél. +32 2 545 77 70 Fax: +32 2 545 77 79 ombudsman@ombudsfin.be The Customer can submit their complaint online at www.ombudsfin.be. This option is reserved exclusively for Customers who are private individuals.
- Acceptance of the Rules For the referring customer, sharing their personal promotional code presupposes that they have read and accepted these Rules. Similarly, the application to open a bank account with the Bank during the Promotion Period presupposes that the new customer has read and accepted these Rules. The request by a legal representative of a minor also implies acceptance of these Rules. In addition, this promotion is subject to the Bank’s General Terms and Conditions. In the event of any contradiction between the General Terms and Conditions and these Rules, the latter shall take precedence.
- Other provisions 9.1. At any time, the Bank reserves the right to change the Rules of this promotion and in particular to cancel the promotion in full or in part for legal and/or technical reasons (servers or databases) and/or suspicion of fraud and/or abuse or proven fraud and/or abuse. The Bank cannot be held responsible for the promotion being cancelled or changed, except for loss resulting directly from criminal intent or gross misconduct by the Bank. 9.2. The Bank may also exclude a participant and, in such cases, refuse to pay out the bonus or recover a bonus that has been paid out, specifically by debiting the account(s) held by the Customer with the Bank. This can be done without prior notice, should there be suspicion of fraud and/or abuse or proven fraud and/or abuse, or should there be an infringement of these Rules. This is in accordance with the Bank’s General Terms and Conditions. In such cases, the Customer may not assert any right or pursue any remedy against the Bank. 9.3. Under no circumstances and on no legal basis may Customers hold the Bank liable for damages or losses of any kind suffered, including technical failures or faults, or Internet traffic slowdowns. This also applies to exclusions from the promotion. This limitation does not apply to damages resulting directly from gross negligence or intentional action by the Bank or one of its agents, representatives or employees. 9.4. These terms and conditions are subject to Belgian law. Should there be a dispute, the courts of Brussels (and, in particular, the magistrates’ court in the jurisdiction of the Bank’s registered office) will have sole jurisdiction. If the judge declares that a provision of these Rules is invalid or unenforceable, that decision will not affect the validity or the enforceability of other provisions. If necessary, a valid replacement provision, which is similar in terms of content, shall be added.
