You will get an error message when your tick size is incorrect

Published on:

Since 3 January 2018 you need to take the tick size into account for your limit and stop orders on Euronext Brussels, Paris or Amsterdam. The stock exchange is refusing systematically orders whenever there is a mismatch between the tick size and the foreseen limit or stop price.

To prevent this from happening you will get an error message as to be seen in the example below whenever you have entered an incorrect tick size in the parameters of your order. In other words, your order can not be transferred to the market with an incorrect tick size. In case of correct parameters, you will not get this message and your order will be sent to the market.

* A tick size is the minimum difference in price that can occur in selling or buying a share.
