“Investors are the new smokers” claimed De Tijd in a recent headline. The government needed to find a new symbol of fair taxation after getting rid of the speculation tax and yet it again set its sights on investors. This tax is hardly what might be considered well-considered policy. There is also a risk that it will go the same way as the speculation tax, in which case it will end up in the trash within a year’s time.
